It is here! The day I have been dreading! Its Dermacol day! I have tried more than one tube of this foundation and I could never make it work. It is so thick and so high coverage that I could not for the life of me understand why it was so popular. I did recently switch from using a brush to using a sponge so I thought that might help sheer it out some, and I told myself that I would try really hard to keep it light in the application.
I believe that Dermacol is cruelty free, at least that is what my internet searches have told me. I tried this in 208, which is the lightest shade and FAR too light for me. I should have tried 207 which is actually a little darker.

When I say this is too light, I mean I look pasty and it is very clear that I have makeup on just because of the tonal difference between my neck and my face. Because it is such high coverage foundation and so paste-like, you can see my skin through and it is clearly different. Imagine paint sort of smeared around over a dark surface. The finish was actually a little nicer than what I remember. It is a nice satin matte. In fact, it looked nice enough that I was tempted to purchase a tube in the right shade, but I know that what I had before was too dark and I am scared to get another tube of something I can't use. The staying power is not bad and it seemed more or less the same as when I put it on later in the day. The key for me is to apply it with a really light hand and I don't think I could use a brush with this.
I may try mixing this with something darker and thinner because I don't hate how this looks. This may make it forward into round two, but I will have to see how the rest pan out. The color is just so bad that I can't make a good call on this the way it is alone.
